A bump in the road

You now when life is just going along so smooth, no bumps in the road everyones happy and healthy? Life is good and it's been such a fabulous summer here in the beautiful pacific northwest. Well you know somethings gotta give right?but you hope not cause you got so much to do, that you want to do, and your doing it, and then WAMMO CABOOM a freakin absessed tooth erupts on the hottest day of the year, heck the record breaking hottest day in 200 years! Ya know the kind of pain that takes you to your knees and you can't keep the tears from streaming down your face?I know it's not the end all and I will shut up soon, because I am so fortunate and I know many people are way worse off then I am. I just had to vent! Thanks for listening I think I'm feeling better! Now maybe I will post some pretty pictures I've taken this summer.

Fun in the sun at Battlegrounds biggest attraction "Barnhouse"

My friend Wendy and I headed south to Battleground Washington, Where the big Barnhouse Fleamarket was happening. It was such a beautiful drive through the countryside on the way there, it made it worth the 4am wakeup call! All the dealers were super and had some really fun stuff!

One of my favorite pictures ... These three adorable girls! Cindy"The Queen of Tarte" and on the left the Angelic Butterfly catcher ! Oh and the pretty redhead was hanging out in Cindy's booth I didn'tcatch her name.
Tiffany always so photogenic, can even strike a cute pose and talk long distance to boot!

The Boys did a fab u lous job only wish we could have hung out longer! It looked like it was gonna be a fun ho down!

My little reject Fairy

I absolutely love summer and in my garden I have a special love , my white Fairy. She was a little reject Fairy I rescued from the clearance rack at the grocery store about eight years ago for a dollar! The box showed a picture of a pink little Fairy, but after I planted her in the garden and nurtured her along she suprised me with her delicate white clusters of blossoms. My Little white Fairy is now an enormous shrub about ten feet in diameter and I have yet to this day to find another white Fairy. I love the bouquets my Fairy gives me in my white ironstone pitchers and the everlasting blooms she gives me all summer long!

Well it was another fun filled weekend at what has become the Annual Field Fest at my house with a group of very close friends and family. We sell alot of junk and eat alot of JUNK! It was a great ending to a very long and exhausting month of Show's, sales, traveling and oh the 9th grade dance! There was only one thing missing my Friend and business partner Kris, she was in a car accident on Fathers day and is still recovering from a serious arm injury, along with many other bumps and bruises. We all missed you Kris!

NO DON'T GO! COME BACK WITH MY BABY!

It's happened to me now. My little girl has just grown up over night! The big 9th grade dance was last night, 17 kids, 34 parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and neighbors all witnessed the transition from childhood to grown-up hood! The 40 foot stretch hummer and all, it really was sooo much fun to see them all dressed up and soo excited for their first BIG night where all the schools in the Puyallup School district get to go to the Puyallup Fairgrounds for annual 9th grade dance.

A Funky Junk Sisterhood is born! Linda,me and Dixie Celebrating the Super succesful first Funky Junk Show! These two sisters along with the rest of their sisters and family members did an outstanding job at making their very first show such a success. They estimated over 1000 shoppers came thru the doors! They managed to get some top notch dealers to this first show and OMG was I impressed along with almost every customer that I spoke with! Everyone was so impressed by the displays that the dealers had put together!

Wow what a whirlwind! Our Farm Chicks adventure was the most fun I've had in a long time! It was exhausting in the best way. The people were all sooo nice and happy, it really was amazing I've never really seen anything quite like it. If you have not made the trip to Spokane Washington you really need to make plans for this show. We met wonderful people from here to the Mississippi, it was amazing the distance everyone travelled to see this show, but now I know why! Heres some of the Super cute chicks that showed up to shop and some pics of the really fabulous Farm chick dealers and their booths that were filled with fabulous finds!

Well if you haven't heard there is a FARM CHICK SHOW NEXT WEEKEND! I have been workin my little farm fannie off (well not all the way off). Packing up the new trailer full of fabulous junk! On one of the hottest weekends I can remember in May! Wow be careful what you wish for we wanted sun and we got it, and it beats the 6months of rain any day sweat runnin in my eyeballs and all that fun stuff! Kris and I are in booth 20 Bay 2 ( to the right of the plaza when you enter) I hope you all come by and see me I kinda have a feeling I'm not going to have much of a chance to get out of our booth.

As a consumer and a small business owner this really made me stop and think where I want my hard earned money to go!

TOP TEN REASONS TO SHOP LOCAL.

LOCAL stores are more likely to carry locally produced plants which support LOCAL agriculture. LOCAL business owners contribute to more LOCAL fundraising. LOCAL businesses provide jobs. LOCAL businesses support other LOCAL businesses. The business community becomes reflective of this community's unique culture. The sales taxes we pay support this community and county, fixing our roads and maintaining our recreational facilities. Competition and diversity result in fair prices, more choices and great customer service. Shopping LOCAL reduces our carbon footprint. LOCAL business owners invest in the community and have a vested interest in the future of their community. Our hometown is important!
And don't forget your favorite Antique stores, you may go back in 6 months and be heart broken if their gone!
Just food for thought...maybe next time you order that book or article of clothing etc. online maybe first you could check your local bookstore or clothing boutique out.

Business before pleasure

Sorry I've been absent, but business before pleasure. Don't get me wrong it's not that I'm ungrateful for the business it's just ALOT of work putting this once a year sale together.! Thanks to all the wonderful nice shoppers who came out, spent money and supported our business! We had a great turnout for our Tag Sale and the sun shined on us for the first time in weeks which put everybody in a great mood! We really worked hard the weeks before and it paid off! So now onto restocking the store and getting the trailer loaded to head off to Spokane for the Farm Chicks Show. Regroup ,redecorate and retire? Well maybe not quite yet.Part of the Tag Sale Team.
