No its not Nantucket, its our sweet little town of Sumner 30 miles north of Seattle

This is our hometown cafe owned by our friends Lola and Nolan. It is right across the street from our store in little ol' Sumner, but you would never know by these pictures you werent somewhere in a little town on the east coast. When Lola and Nolan came home one day from a garge sale with these fabulous chairs I just couldn't believe how absolutely perfect they were in front of our little Berryland Cafe. These were the colors they were painted when they picked them up for a mere $15 bucks each at a Sunday sale! where was I? oh ya I never go out junkin on Sundays there's never anything good??? Duh! I'll be rethinkin that ha?
Berryland Cafe home of the best Rhubarb pie in the country!
Did you know that Sumner is the Rhubarb Capital?

Some pretty flowers from my somewhat pitiful garden this year. I love gardening, but the last couple of years I just haven't done what I've wanted, too busy, lazy I don't know, but I think this fall I am going to get back into diggin in the dirt. I really do miss it. Put that On my things I want to do list.

Lacecap hydrangeas always turning a different color

holly hocks are one of my favorites

same lacecap hydrangea in blue

My fifty plus year old pink rosebush
Hope you are all having a wonderful summer!
Now I have got to get out and get JUNKIN I'm having withdrawals!

Oh I love Sumner!! I especially enjoy strolling downtown and peeking into all the cute shops. Is the pharmacy (Marks, I think?) still there? It sold a lot of wonderful little decor items and yummy homemade caramels. Thanks for the post! I miss western Washington.

What TOTALLY awesome chairs--perfect for the cafe!

I love hollyhocks too. Have you ever made little "dancers" out of the blooms? As a child I would pick the little closed blossoms for the "head" and insert on top of an upside down big blossom. Float in bowl of water . . . sweet!

Ah, the fabulous Adirondack Chairs! I just had a post about them..., and even though they are really everywhere (and came from the mountains), they seem to conjure images of coastal New England.

Wish I could try Funky Junk again, Amy, but it's at the same time as Portland Expo--a big one for me. You'll knock it out of the ballpark, I'm sure!!

Say "hi" to Kris!

Hi Amy!!!
Yes I am doing Funky Junk again! And I'm so sorry about your tooth, I have a tooth issue as well...I feel your pain:( Brandon spent his summers at the Puyallup Farmer's Market with me when he was 11 to 14 years old! They are an awesome pair. And Lilli, what happens to our kids? Hope to visit soon.
Blessings,
Deb

Hi Amy,
Those chairs look perfect there! I am determined to plant some hollyhock after seeing it at a farm at the lavender festival a couple weeks ago, it's so beautiful. I hope you are having a good summer.
Hugs,
Kathy

Looks like a sweet little town. My daughter lives in Everson, near Lynden, WA. I love those little towns, they are so cute and have such great restaurants. I would definitely visit your friends restaurant if we ever went through Sumner. Who knows, we may someday! Your garden has some real beauties in it. Hugs ~cindy s~
